ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC

Many people believe that chiropractors are good for treating only back pain and headaches. While chiropractors do succeed at treating these two conditions, there is much more that this profession has to offer!

The brain and the spinal cord control every function in the body. For you to read this website, for your heart to beat, for your lungs to breathe, and even for that paper cut to heal on your finger, information must pass from your brain, down your spinal cord and out through the nerves that pass between the spinal bones to get the information to the area that is needed. When this information is able to pass freely, the body is capable of healing itself of most ailments.

The spinal column and its 25 movable bones (vertebrae) surrounds and protects the spinal cord and brain stem, which are the core of the entire nervous system. When the spine and the nervous system are in the correct position, the body can function at 100% of its potential. However, sometimes the spine can shift in position and the vertebrae can get “stuck.” This causes the delicate nerves that pass between them to function poorly and the information passing between the brain and the body is hindered causing a variety of problems, depending on the area affected. Sometimes these problems can cause pain (such as a headache or a backache) which is easy to detect; however, sometimes the problem may have less immediate symptoms (such as poor digestion) which cannot be detected until much later when more serious symptoms (such as vitamin deficiency) arise.

Chiropractors are trained to detect these spinal misalignments and to correct them so that the body can again function at its best, without resulting in the use of drugs or surgery. It is important to note that chiropractic is actually a form of preventative healthcare. Although a chiropractor can help to alleviate the pain of a headache, chiropractors like to adjust their patients on a regular basis in order to prevent the problems from occurring in the first place.

The PulStar gives gentle, effective adjustments without the “cracking” noises that many fear when considering chiropractic care. This revolutionary instrument is great for many conditions, and is also safe for those with arthritic joints and osteoporosis. The PulStar has been successful in bringing relief to those who have tried everything but nothing seemed to help.

How Does It Work?

The first step is to analyze each bone (vertebrae) in the spine. The hand-held, dual-pronged instrument straddles each bone and applies a gentle “tap.” A sensor in the instrument sends information to a graph on the computer screen which indicates how well each bone is able to move. The doctor can read the graph and determine which bones need to be adjusted.

After the primary analysis is complete, the doctor places the instrument on the selected bone and a gentle, vibrating force is applied until the PulStar detects that the bone is moving better.

Once all of the necessary bones have been adjusted, a re-analysis of the entire spine is performed. This sends another graph to the computer screen to be compared with the first. Now the doctor (and the patient) can see the changes that have occurred with the adjustment.

Will It Hurt?

The great thing about the PulStar is that the patient is able to remain in a neutral position (either sitting or lying down) throughout the entire treatment, without bending or twisting into positions that might aggravate the condition. This makes most adjustments gentle and painless.

Will It Cost More Than Traditional Manual Adjustments?
